about the farm:
COOPEAGRI is a Costa Rican cooperative located in the Brunca Region, operating at elevations between 1,200 and 2,000 meters. This lot is primarily Catuaí, Caturra, and Obatá varietals, with coffee processed using a conventional washed method at the Beneficio Ecológico CoopeAgri (wet mill) and Beneficio El Hoyón (dry mill) during the December to February harvest season.
In addition to its technical operations, COOPEAGRI is dedicated to social and environmental responsibility. Social initiatives include constructing housing for the extremely disadvantaged, providing pensions for senior associates, and offering medical assistance through an on-site clinic for members and their families. Environmentally, the cooperative operates an ecological coffee mill that utilizes 100% rainwater and embraces a circular economy model, transforming the entire coffee fruit into products such as organic fertilizer, mucilage concentrate for the food industry, irrigation water, and fuel from parchment.
